The college envisages various activities for the promotion of Research & Development in the college.

  • SEVEN MINOR RESEARCH PROJECTS SANCTIONED BY UGC HAVE BEEN TAKEN BY THE FACULTY. TWO HAVE BEEN COMPLETED AND ONE MINOR RESEARCH PROJECT IN MATHEMATICS HAS BEEN SANCTIONED IN 2011.

  • TWO DAY NATIONAL LEVEL CONFERENCE IN MATHEMATICS SANCTIONED BY UGC WAS HELD IN FEB.12-13, 2011.
  • ONE DAY NATIONAL SEMINAR ON LIVING AND WORKING CONDITION OF MIGRANT LABOUR SPONSORED BY ICSSR, CHANDIGARH WAS HELD ON 26TH FEB., 2012.
  • ONE DAY NATIONAL SEMINAR ORGANIZED BY GANDHIAN STUDIES CENTRE WAS HELD ON 25TH MAR.,2012.

The various activities held in the college are:

Rain Water Harvesting

An interactive discussion cum lecture was organised for the faculty members of the college on June 13, 2008 by Col. R.S. Parmar, I/C, CII, J&K in coordination with Coca Cola Industries on 'Rain Water Harvesting'.

Global Warming and Climate Change

An interactive lecture / discussion was organised by the department of Geography on the alarming effects of 'Global Warming and Climate Change' on October 15, 2008 for the students and faculty. Prof. Sunil Kute the key resource person from Pune University deliberated that global warming is not only the most threatening environmental problem but one of the greatest challenges facing all humanity.

Formation of J&K State and its Accession with Indian Union

A seminar was organised on "Formation of J&K State and its accession with Indian Union" in collaboration with Universal Foundation, a social organization on October 31, 2008. Maj Brahm Singh was the Guest of Honour. Mr. Dineshwar Singh Jamwal, founder President of the organization and the main speaker on the subject, highlighted the role of Maharaja Hari Singh of J&K State in signing instrument of accession with the Indian Union.

Smoke free environment - No Tobacco Day

No Tobacco Day was observed in the college on May31, 2008 in collaboration with Directorate of Environmental & Remote Sensing, J&K. An Intercollege Symposia, Essay Writing and On Spot Painting competitions were organised to spread awareness on the adversaries of tobaccouse. Former Hon'ble Minister for Higher Education, G.S. Charak, was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

No Vehicle Day

Sequel to the thought - provoking deliberation by eminent Geologist Prof. Sunil Kute of Pune University on the threats and remedies concerning global warming, the college observed 'No Vehicle Day' on October 23, 2008, where faculty and the students made use of public transport, instead of private vehicles.

Awareness rally "Say No to Crackers"

Sequence to the series of events with regard to Global Warming, an Inter-college awareness rally was organised "Say No to Crackers". The rally was flagged off by Director Colleges, Dr. N.D. Wani. Students of various city colleges along with their Principals and teaching staff participated in their awareness campaign. A pledge "the nation that destroys its soil destroys itself" reiterating not to use crackers was taken by the students.
